1 – Do what you love and Love what you do!

Have a strong passion for what you do and you will be good at what you are doing. If you are truly happy at work, you won’t have to drag yourself out of bed every morning and you’ll find that the time will fly by during the day.  Your optimism will radiate and positively influence the people who are around you.

2 – Invest time on clients

Personalize and customize your work for each individual client. You don’t want to create generic plans and ideas that apply to everyone just because it saves time. A small amount of extra effort goes a long way, clients will appreciate the attention and detail you have provided to tailor your services to their needs.  Even just a handwritten thank you card is sometimes enough.

3 – Network

Networking is the best way to market yourself and your business.  By meeting other people not only can you advertise your products and services, but you may be able to learn something from others.  Networking events are a great way to connect with other business owners to share ideas.

4 – Don’t talk the talk if you can’t walk the walk

Often times you may think you have the edge over your competitors, but if you don’t know what you are talking about, they have you beat.  Always be sure to do the research you’ll need to back yourself up and be prepared for any questions that may arise.  Frequently review your gathered information to form new ideas and opinions.

5 – Listen to feedback

Always be open to positive and negative feedback. Positive feedback reinforces a job well done and provides a certain level of confidence.  Criticism is just as important as praise because it highlights areas of growth and may present ideas to stimulate your business.

6 – Create an inspiring work environment

Surround yourself with things you love whether its pictures of family and friends, walls painted in your favorite color, or a beautifully scented candle.  By being surrounded by these relaxing and cheerful reminders everyday, you will be motivated and inspired to press on with your work.

7 – Teamwork

Successful businesses are always a collaborative effort.  Make sure to hire a motivating staff that understands and shares your business goals.  Working towards a common goal will unite and encourage your team.

8 – Never loose curiosity for learning new things

Seek fresh inspiration and always be open to new growth opportunities. Don’t be afraid to break your routine; small changes in your daily routine can lead to invigorating experiences and creative thought patterns.

9 – Setting goals

Always set personal and business objectives.  Goals give you something to work towards and leave you feeling accomplished when they are achieved.

10 – Work/Life Balance

Even if you love your work and want to channel all of your energy into it, don’t forget that your family should always come first. Spending time with them will give you the support and encouragement that you need to achieve your goals at work.

11 – Ask for help

If you are feeling lost or overwhelmed, don’t be afraid to stop and ask for help.  Sometimes all you need is a fresh set of ideas and opinions to get you back on track.

12 – Keep your cool

Don’t let yourself get overwhelmed, this will prevent you from being productive, or worse, your hair will fall out! Nobody’s perfect, and that’ ok. You’re allowed to give yourself a minute to vent and take out your frustrations, but bounce back fast.

13 – Strive for the highest quality in everything you do

14 – Act in a professional manner
