Smart Spending – Letter from the editor

Written by:

Dear Entrepreneur,

Welcome to our TWENTIETH issue of WomenandBiz.com. The theme is on Smart Spending, and I’ve had many A-HA moments just by reading our contributors’ articles. They discuss how important it is to be aware of your expenses, to choose what’s important, to invest in things that matter, and to spend on whatever will help you build your business effectively and efficiently.

For me, spending in books has always been smart, but after reading Deborah Bailey’s article, I’m not so sure… Lena West shares important tips when deciding to create a blog, and Jennifer Shaheen discusses how you can make smart technology spending decisions that will save you precious time and money in the long run. Jodi Kaplan offers advice on how you can save when running a direct mail campaign and Nina Kaufman reveals the additional expenses you might incur if you do not hire a lawyer or ask for professional advice. These are just a few samples of the many articles, suggestions and insights you can read on our 20th issue!

We are featuring Marsha Firestone, founder of the Women President’s Organization and the Women President’s Educational Organization.

I also had a chance to interview NAWBO-NYC Signature Award Winners, and you can learn from the winners by visiting the Featured page.

All the best making spending decisions that matter,

Elisa Balabram, Editor
